If your child will be absent on our sport’s day please let us know as soon as possible, as we are presently finalising teams. Pupils need to come dressed in their team colours and wearing suitable footwear on this day only. Teachers will advise children of what colour teams they are on shortly. We will be practising for Sport’s Day in Three Rock Rovers Hockey Grounds on Monday 14th June. All children should be brought to Three Rock Rovers Hockey Grounds directly for 8.30 a.m. on this day. It is not necessary to bring school bags. However, your child should bring lunch, as usual. We will return to the school at 12.20 p.m. Infants are free to go home directly from Three Rock Rovers Hockey Grounds. We would appreciate if parents would volunteer to ferry children from 1st- 6th classes from Three Rock Rovers Hockey Grounds to the school. Please ensure that you have necessary booster seats if you are transporting younger children.

Parent Teacher Association
·    Christmas Cards
This year the Whitechurch PTA has decided to produce a Christmas card designed by the pupils in the school. We are currently seeking sponsorship to cover the cost of producing the
cards and would like to give parents the opportunity to have their business name printed on the card.
All we are asking for is sponsorship of €100 or more and you will have a distribution of between 1000 - 1500 cards to family and friends of the
school. If you have a skill or a contact that you could contribute to the project (e.g., design or printing) that would be gratefully appreciated as well.

·    National Parents Council Survey on Literacy
N. P. C. are currently carrying out a survey on Literacy. The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and can be found online at the following link:
http://www.npc.ie/npc/survey.aspx
·    Hockey
Next year we are looking for parents to volunteer as hockey coaches,
as some of the current coaches are either stepping down or their
children will have left the school. Some hockey experience would be
preferred, but it could be made up with enthusiasm. If you are going to be standing by the pitch watching the kids anyway, why not join in and lend a hand. Please let Laoighse in the office know if you are interested.
Many thanks
Stephen Wall Morris
Chairman of the PTA

Green School Programme
As you will be aware by now our focus for the Green School Programme for the forthcoming year will be “Travel”. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parent volunteers who give of their time so willingly. The committee meets every 3 weeks for approximately 20 minutes. Two parent representatives attend each meeting. At present Catherine Coxon
Helen Kenny,     Jackie Sullivan, Sian Fitzgerald and Alison Forbes are the parent representatives on the committee. If there is anybody among the parent body who has a particular interest in this field and wishes to join the committee, please let Shirley Wallace know.

End of term
There will be a short end of term service on Tuesday 29th June at 10.30 a.m. in the Church. All parents are invited to attend. Children are free to go home after the service once they return to the school.

Sports day BBQ

As fundraising comes to a close for this school year, PTA2 are delighted to invite you all to our annual BBQ, which will be held on 22 June (weather permitting) at the school’s sports day.

We will have burgers and hot dogs on offer, as well as crisps, sweets and minerals. We hope you will all take this opportunity to relax and enjoy the food and beverages on offer. Just bring your picnic blankets and we’ll do the rest.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy summer and to thank all those who participated in our fundraising events this year. We look forward to your continued support when school resumes in September.
